New governance models

Up to Which themes should be discussed in 2009?

New governance models

Posted by Maria A. Wimmer at October 21. 2008

In the era of social communities, new governance models may also be thought of as an upcoming theme. Do we need new public-private-civic relationships in future virtual worlds of citizen-government-parliament relationships? If so, what technologies would be needed, what governance models would these require, and how to transform from traditional modes to virtual governance?

Could this be a new theme?

The problem for new egovernance models is absolutely of interest. Now, preparing my PhD work, on the theme "Models for communication between egovernment and business", I read a lot of publications and statistics and the conclusion is that it's time to change the current models of the government because of new chalenges in ICT.

Dear Maria,

new governance models are key topic in EGOV 09. Also, the EC has opened a call on ICT for governance and policy modelling, where new governance models are to be addressed.

We have now opened the submission system for EGOV 09 and we welcome you to also consider submitting your PhD work to the colloquium (apart from expecting a paper contribution to EGOV 09 ;) ).
