Keynote 1: 2020 vision – eight mega trends in e-government for the next eight years
Abstract: Trends in e-government reflect trends in society but also help shape public services and governance. What really is happening now and how will this continue up to 2020? Why we should be both excited yet cautious.
| Jeremy Millard is Senior Consultant with the Danish Technological Institute and Associate Research Fellow at Brunel University, UK. He consults and teaches on technology and society in Europe and globally, and has worked with governments, regional agencies, and private and civil sectors worldwide. His clients also include the European Commission, the UN, the OECD and the WB. In addition to Europe, he works in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Recent assignments for the European Commission include the European eGovernment annual benchmark, leading an impact assessment of the European eGovernment 2010 Action Plan, leading a large scale Europe-wide survey and analysis of eParticipation, and developing the eGovernment 2020 Vision Study on Future Directions of Public Service Delivery. He is currently working as an expert for the UN on the global eGovernment development survey, for the OECD on back-office developments in support of user-centred eGovernment strategies, and in Oman on upgrading the country’s eGovernment and eParticipation capabilities. He is also directing a large European research study on social innovation. |
