In 2012, the IFIP EGOV and ePart conferences are hosted by the University of Agder, Norway. The local hosts are from the Center for eGovernment at the Department of Information Systems. The conferences will take place at the University campus in Kristiansand.

The University of Agder

The University of Agder (UiA) is one of Norway's youngest universities, but its roots span 170 years of history. In 2011, the University of Agder has approximately 9,600 students and 1000 employees. The University is spread over two campuses and offers more than 150 study programmes.

Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences

The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences is responsible for study programmes, research and dissemination in the fields of business administration, economics, organizational theory, political science, social work, development studies and information systems. The department of information systems offers degrees at the bachelor, master and Ph.D level. The department has had a long-term focus on eGovernment and eParticipation and recently established a Center on eGovernment.

Conference Venue – Gimlemoen

The Gimlemoen campus of the University of Agder is located relatively close to the city center (15 to 20 minutes walking distance). Gimlemoen is a modern campus that was opened in 2001. All sessions will be held in the B building where 6 rooms of varying size will be at our disposal, as well as open spaces suitable for technical exhibitions, posters, but also coffee and tea breaks and lunches. All technical and catering facilities are available at Gimlemoen.
Gimlemoen is easily accessible by foot, cab, or by public transportation.

The city of Kristiansand is proud to sponsor the conference reception at Christiansholm Castle. The Castle is located in the city center, close to the conference hotels.

Travelling to the University of Agder

UiA is accessible by plane with daily direct flights from Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Oslo, by train from Oslo and Stavanger, and by ferry from Hirtshals in North Denmark. For more information, get directions here.

English is the official Language for the conference. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
